For more than 79 years, The Boys & Girls Clubs of Dayton has been in the forefront of youth development, working with young people from disadvantaged economic, social, and family circumstances. We are dedicated to ensuring that our community’s disadvantaged youngsters have greater access to quality programs and services that will enhance their lives and shape their futures as productive citizens.
From games and athletics to abstinence workshops, Boys & Girls Clubs of Dayton offers young people a range of fun and productive activities. Clubs are open each day after school from 2:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. A trained, caring staff implements proven youth development strategies and creates a stable, supportive environment for children and teens ages six to 18. Specially designed programs concentrate on developing job readiness, study skills, leadership, self-esteem, good health and social responsibility among Boys & Girls Club members.
Job Functions & Responsibilities: · Plans and executes resource development programs to include annual campaign and special events, grant/proposal writing, promotions, cause-related marketing and in-kind gifts. · Works with appropriate staff and key volunteers to further develop and implement a computerized information database for the entry, retrieval, and storage of data relative to all resource development activities. · Maintains close working relationship and understanding of United Way and government funding requirements and proposals. · Plans, organizes, and implements a stewardship program to ensure that all donors receive appropriate acknowledgement of their gifts and cultivation for future ones. Plans and coordinates with appropriate staff the work of gift processing and record keeping to ensure a timely turn-around (48 hours or less) on all gifts received. Works with the Chief Professional Officer and appropriate Board committees on public relations activities, i.e. newsletter, annual reports, etc. · Monitors, prepares, and reports on the annual giving data to the Chief Professional Officer and the Resource Development Committee. · Evaluates and assesses the results of all resource development activities and makes recommendations to the Chief Professional Officer and the Resource Development Committee.
Job Requirements
Education/Skills/Knowledge/Experience Combined education and experience equivalent to (4) four years of college and the required minimum number of (3) three years of related experience considered. Equivalent experience must reflect expertise in the skills, knowledge and competencies required for the posted opportunity.
