SENIOR SEARCH ANALYST (Los Angeles, CA and New York, NY)
 
U.S. International Media's interactive/digital division is looking for a Senior Search Analyst in its West Hollywood corporate office. The Senior SEM Analyst will plan, execute, manage and analyze online search plans and strategies for a variety of agency clients. A strong analytical background and an interest in data analysis are required. The successful candidate possesses a passion for interactive technologies, strong analytical and teamwork skills, and an ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment. If hired, this person will report to the EVP, Managing Director.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

The SEM Analyst will be responsible for the day-to-day ownership of client's numerous search engine campaigns in Google, Yahoo, Ask, MSN, Tier 2 engines and content networks. This position will be held accountable for measurable improvement and growth of the search engine channel. Specific responsibilities include:

  • Keyword Analysis - Evaluate keyword performance and implement bid increases/decreases, keyword deletions, landing page changes and structure changes.
  • Keyword Development - Effective research & selection of appropriate keywords.
  • Keyword Expansion & Implementation - Find opportunities to expand keyword universe, which entails building new keyword lists, tracking link creation, determining appropriate bids and implementing into each search engine account.
  • Copy Analysis, Optimization and Expansion - Evaluate performance of active copy and optimize based on click through rates conversion/approval rates and search engine quality scores. Additionally, you will be expected to introduce new copy concepts to test against existing variations.
  • Conversion Analysis & Optimization - Work with the consumer and product team to identify opportunities to improve user experience and increase conversion rates.
  • Account Strategy - Work closely with each search engine in order to anticipate changes and/or new products. You will evaluate and make recommendations to prepare for changes and/or test new opportunities based on the current market status and competition.
  • Reporting - Provide updated performance stats on a weekly basis, and upon request, for updates frequently provided intra-department & company wide.



JOB DESCRIPTION:

In the capacity of Senior Search Analyst, your responsibilities will include the following:

  • Building and executing on Search Engine Marketing (cost per click/cpc) campaigns for our clients, to include:
  • Effective keyword research & Selection
  • Creation of compelling ad copy
  • Selection of appropriate traffic channels
  • Determination of Landing Pages or recommendations of such
  • Maintaining ongoing optimization efforts using analytics to determine CPC bid strategies, advanced engine features to implement and execute those changes.
  • Monitoring budgets and increase client's ROI and conversion performance.
  • Reporting internally to team and externally to client on performance, results and strategy/new ideas. Create Dashboards.
  • Researching new advertising channels or platforms to be considered.
  • Working with Search Engine Representatives (vendors) to facilitate management of client accounts.
  • Presentations to clients.


JOB REQUIREMENTS:

  • "Best Practices" knowledge of Search Engine Marketing tactics and guidelines.
  • Experience with Cost Per Click advertising networks to include: Google Adwords, Yahoo, BING,(MSN AdCenter), ASK, Verizon, etc.
  • Ability to extract necessary information from web analytics.
  • Good writer - strong command of English language, while understanding advertising and marketing language. Excellent writing and grammar skills needed.
  • Google & Yahoo certification preferred, familiarity with Atlas or Dart.
  • Ability to communicate internally and externally to clients --- via phone or email.
  • Analytical thinker - able to come up with solutions AND be a problem solver.
  • Quick learner - self motivated and able to multitask on several projects simultaneously.
  • Works well under pressure and deadlines



EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

    *  **PRIOR SEM EXPERIENCE REQUIRED** ONLY CANDIDATES WITH PRIOR SEM EXPERIENCE WILL BE CONSIDERED FOR THIS POSITION. (Please submit examples of CPC campaigns or ad copy/keywords you have managed, with your resume)
    * 1-3 years experience in data analysis and / or CPC campaign management .
    * Google and Yahoo certification a plus.
